Phoenix Tactical Engineering and Strategic Solutions Directorate

Adaptive Infrastructure, Autonomous Robotics & Field Engineering — STRADA's engineering and tactical solutions directorate, developing the physical systems, autonomous platforms, and field engineering capabilities that extend the Foundation's reach into the world's most challenging environments.

Overview

Phoenix Tactical Engineering and Strategic Solutions Directorate

The Phoenix Tactical Engineering and Strategic Solutions Directorate (PTESSD) is the engineering and field systems arm of STRADA. It develops, tests, and deploys the physical technologies — adaptive infrastructure, autonomous robotic platforms, and tactical engineering solutions — that enable the Foundation's operational directorates to function effectively in the world's most demanding environments.

PTESSD bridges the gap between laboratory research and field application, taking the scientific outputs of Physics International and PTESI and engineering them into deployable systems. Its work spans a wide range of scales — from individual autonomous platforms and portable field laboratories to large-scale infrastructure projects in post-conflict and disaster-affected regions.

The directorate maintains close operational relationships with Pacific 7.0's field units and PHIF's humanitarian teams, ensuring that its engineering solutions are designed to meet real operational requirements — not just theoretical specifications.

Autonomous Systems

Robotics & Autonomous Platforms

PTESSD's autonomous systems program develops unmanned aerial, ground, and maritime platforms for a range of operational applications — including reconnaissance, logistics support, environmental monitoring, search and rescue, and infrastructure inspection in hazardous environments. Its robotics research focuses on systems capable of operating autonomously in GPS-denied, communication-degraded, and physically challenging environments where human operators cannot safely or effectively function.

Field Engineering

Adaptive Infrastructure & Tactical Solutions

The directorate's field engineering program develops rapidly deployable infrastructure solutions for humanitarian, environmental, and security operations — including portable water purification systems, modular field hospitals, emergency communications networks, and hardened command facilities. Its adaptive infrastructure work focuses on systems that can be rapidly assembled, reconfigured, and redeployed as operational requirements evolve — providing the Foundation's field teams with the physical infrastructure they need, wherever they need it.
